NCSY Conduct, Policy & Behavioral Standards

NCSY is a drug-free, weapon-free, alcohol-free environment. None of these items are permitted at our events and if any of these are found on any participant it is grounds for immediate expulsion from our programs at the parents’ expense. In addition, please make it crystal clear to your teens that leaving the program premises without permission is also grounds for expulsion. We have several rules with teen safety in mind. Please review them with your teen. Bringing illegal weapons (such as guns, switchblades, sharpened box cutters etc..) to an event will result in confiscation of the weapons, expulsion from the event at the earliest practical time, and may also be referred to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.

No teen may attend the Shabbaton without a waiver filled out and signed by a legal guardian.

MEDICAL REMINDER: If you take prescription medication. The medication name, amount of medication, how it administered and the reason you are taking the medication MUST be clearly written on the waiver. If you allow your teen to self-medicate then you MUST indicate that on the waiver and initial that line. In addition, please indicate on the waiver if your child has special food needs or allergies

SICK POLICY: Parents: For the safety of all our participants, we ask that you adhere to our sick policy. Please keep your teens home if they have exhibited any of the following symptoms in the 24 hours before the shabbaton: Fever over 99.5, vomiting, lice, pinkeye, or any other symptom that may indicate a contagious illness. We will be able to offer refunds for sick cancellations. We thank you in advance for helping to keep our programs healthy and safe for all participants. PLEASE NOTE: You MUST be completely paid up before the convention or have a payment plan set up with us. In addition, all waivers MUST be filled out. Your child will NOT be allowed on the trip without meeting these requirements.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Our refund policy is as follows: If you cancel your registration more than two weeks prior to the start date of the Shabbaton, you will receive a full refund. Should you cancel two weeks prior, you will receive a 50% refund. However, if you cancel within the last week before the Shabbaton, we are unable to offer any refund. Additional cancellation policy if your event required airfare purchase: Should you need to cancel, and an airplane ticket has been purchased for you to attend the Shabbaton, you are responsible to find someone to replace you and pay the change person fee or to pay the cost of the ticket. However, if you cancel more than 1 month in advance, you will receive a full refund and not be required to find a replacement.
